Ever wonder about the theme park situated on top of Ponce City Market? Located on the rooftop of one of my new favorite places in Atlanta, Ponce City Market, you’ll find a plethron for things to do, shops the see and delicious food to experience. You’ll also discover breathtaking views of the Atlanta skyline, and you’ll discover your inner child again.
Skyline Park is great for all ages. Take your family during the day or enjoy a date night like no other in the evening. You’ll have a great time whenever you go!
How to get to Skyline Park
Don’t worry; I was confused also. You can locate the elevator to get to Skyline Park outside in the first-floor courtyard. If you are inside, head toward Williams Sonoma and the Guest Services area. Walk outside the main entrance door, and the elevator is located outside. The service elevator is marked by a giant flashy sign that says The Roof (pictured below).
*The elevator is only operational when Skyline Park and Nine Mile Station are open. If the elevator is not in service, chances are everything is closed on The Roof.
Skyline Park Attractions
Once you arrive at Skyline Park, you’ll see all the great things to do. There is a row of carnival games to your left that is designed to look like the old school games you know and love. Bring out your competitive side with these games of skill.
Take a ride down Skyline Slide. If you’re scared of heights, you may want to skip this one. You’ll be climbing stairs behind the Ponce City Market sign to the top before you grab a mat to slide down this wavy slide. Here is the view from the very top!
Next, go for a round of mini golf while you take in the breathtaking panoramic views of Atlanta. Located in the middle of the mini golf course is Heege Tower. You can pull yourself up for and even better view while you race the others up the side.
By this point, you’ve probably worked up a healthy appetite. Now it’s time to indulge in some yummy food!
Food you’ll find at Skyline Park
Whether you’re looking for something small to snack on like a soft pretzel or a full meal, you can find it without leaving the park. The Sideshow has walk-up service where you can order your food and beverages (including adult options) and then find your favorite spot to enjoy them. From hot dogs to short rib sandwiches, there are some great choices. Looking for something with a sit-down menu? You’ll want to visit Nine Mile Station, Skyline Park’s beer garden for that. They serve European-inspired American dining with small plates that are designed to be shared. Their menu changes seasonally and based on availability. One of my favorite choices is their picnic basket which serves four people and includes sandwiches, ribs, breads and spreads, salads and snacks! You can enjoy an entertaining array of beers, a lot of which are local, or some boozy cocktails.
