Special activities highlight puppetry traditions from around the globe
WHAT: World Puppetry Day
In celebration of World Puppetry Day, the Center is hosting some extra-special activities to highlight puppetry traditions from around the globe! Proceeds from these activities will be donated to UNIMA-USA, the American branch of Union Internationale de la Marionnette, the international puppetry organization.
World Puppetry Day Program
Celebrate global puppetry traditions in Africa, the Americas, Europe and Asia when you join us for this fun, interactive presentation! Watch puppets come to life as you learn about different cultures and explore the intersection of geography, history, social studies, and the arts. With plenty of opportunities for participation and play, this program is appropriate for all ages.
World Puppetry Tour
Discover how puppetry from all over the globe has inspired and entertained for thousands of years. From the oldest Chinese traditions to the changing styles of Punch and Judy to today’s modern masters, journey through the Center’s permanent exhibition and one of the largest collections of global puppetry on exhibit in the nation.
